Reading FAQs

Reading FAQs

Q: What is the general structure of an energy reading?

A: Readings are either 45 or 75 minutes in length and take place over the phone.

A 75-minute reading is more extensive and includes a full energy assessment where Sarah will assess all of your seven primary energy centers (also known as chakras) and provide you with a comprehensive summary of your overall energetic state. Typically, this takes about 30 minutes and you are welcome to ask any questions about Sarah's findings during this time. After the energy assessment is complete, you are able to ask specific questions about any area of your life (see below "What types of questions should I ask…" for more info). Usually, you’ll have time to ask 3-4 questions, depending on the complexity of each question. Time permitting, a 75-minute reading will close out with a personalized energy balancing guided visualization and Sarah will perform a distance healing on any energy centers that require extra attention.

A 45-minute reading includes a mini energy assessment where Sarah will share information about a two to three of your primary energy centers, typically looking at what needs the greatest amount of attention. You are then able to ask specific questions you have, either centered on what came up in the mini energy assessment or relating to any other area of your life. In a 45-minute reading with a mini assessment, you’ll usually have time to ask 2-3 questions, depending on the complexity of each question. Kindly note that this reading does not include an energy balancing at the end.

A 45-minute basic reading (no energy assessment) is simply time for you to ask any questions you have on your mind. This reading is recommended for return clients as it does not entail any assessment of the energy centers. This is an excellent option if you had questions that you didn't have time to get to in another reading or if you wanted to follow up on a few items following a bigger, more robust reading.

Q: Is this Reiki?

A: An energy reading is not Reiki, although in a 75-minute reading there is typically a 10-minute energy balancing visualization which may feel a little like Reiki. Sarah taps into Reiki energy during the entire reading, especially when she is performing the energy assessment.

Q: How can you read energy over the phone?

A: Have you ever had an experience where you were going to call someone and then moments later they called you? Or, have you ever had a feeling that you need to check in with a family member or friend and, after reaching out, you learn that something of significance had just happened to them? This is an example of taping into energy—we do not need to be in-person in order to do so effectively.

In addition to Sarah's natural ability to read energy remotely, she has received extensive training in this area and can seamlessly tap into your energy wherever in the world you may be!

Q: I’ve never had a reading before—what do I need to know?

A: The more open you are to receiving information, the higher the quality of information you receive will be. This does not mean that you have to come into a session and tell Sarah every detail about your life—in fact, she prefers to not have too much background information from you at first so that she can get a more clear read on your energy. In essence, this means that the best sessions result from your willingness to learn about areas that require your attention and where you can make meaningful improvements, in addition to learning about what your biggest strengths are.

If you are considering booking a session or have booked a session and have not had a complimentary consultation, Sarah highly recommends doing so if you have questions about the process and/or are a little nervous about your reading. Sarah don’t read energy in a consultation; it's just time for you to connect with her about what you’re looking to get out of a session and she will happily address any questions about the process you may have.

Tips for a successful reading:

  • Be open to the information you recieve! It's always helpful to take notes so you can go back, re-read, and process everything that was discussed.
  • Trust that the information you will receive will be of your highest and best good.
  • Ask questions during the process if something doesn’t make sense.
  • Know that you are in a totally judgment-free and safe space to talk about whatever is on your mind. Everything discussed is always 100% confidential.

Q: Can you read my mind or predict the future?

A: Because we have free will and the ability to change the way we run our energy, Sarah does not claim to predict the future—she simply reads energy. Sarah uses her skills as a professional intuitive to look at a likely outcome per your specific energetic patterns and the way you currently run your energy.

Sarah does not like to try to predict the future for clients because she believes in the importance of walking through life for specific experiences and lessons. With guidance received from a reading, you will have more tools in your toolkit to better navigate these often murky waters with more grace and confidence.

If there is something on your mind that you are focusing a great deal of energy on, Sarah will often be able to pick up on that, but she do not deliberately read minds (nor does she want to!).

Q: What types of people do you work with?

A: We happily work with clients of all ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and beliefs. At this time, we do not offer readings to anyone under the age of 18, however, if you would like Sarah to assess the energy of a minor who is under your care, please contact her in advance of your session.

Q: How often should I have a reading?

A: Everyone is different, but in general, we recommend getting a reading two to four times per year. If you are going through a lot of changes or a particularly challenging time, once per quarter is a nice cadence to check in while allowing space for life to unfold and for you to do the necessary work to create change, if needed.

If you find that life is feeling a little more balanced for you and are interested in keeping a pulse on your energy and path, twice per year works well for many people.

We seek readings when life is throwing us curveballs, so you can always add on an extra session if things in life are feeling especially challenging. This works beautifully for many clients as a way to supplement other sources of personal healing or energetic work they do.

If you have a reading and do not get through all of the questions you’d like to ask, you can absolutely schedule a follow-up session to take place within a week or so. While we don’t recommend getting readings on the same topics more than once per month, another session for additional questions a few days or even a week after your initial session is perfectly fine!

Q: Do I need to do anything special during the reading?

A: It is recommended that you find a quiet and distraction-free space for your session where you feel relaxed and comfortable. Many people share vulnerable details about their life per the information that comes up, so it’s best to be in a space where you feel safe and free to say what’s on your mind.

It is also helpful to have a pen and notebook or paper nearby so you can take notes if something comes up that you’d like to remember; there is typically a lot of information passed along to you in a reading and many clients like to take time to process and refer back to their notes following the session.

Q: What types of questions should I ask during my reading?

A: Many people come to sessions with questions relating to their career, family, or close relationships, although this is just a general sample of what you can discuss. It is important to understand that Sarah reads the energy around each topic in present time; you have free will and can actively choose to run your energy differently, resulting in different outcomes. That said, it is also important to understand that it takes a conscious and often strong effort to change our energetic patterns.

Examples of questions clients often ask:

  • I’m considering changing courses in my career and am looking into the following options. What option feels best for me and can you tell me a little bit about what you see for each one?
  • I just started dating this new person and am having some mixed emotions about my feelings. Can you tell me what is going on and if we look compatible energetically?
  • I’m feeling really disconnected from my family / X family member and am having a difficult time figuring out why this is. Can you read the energy around this disconnect?
