Q: How is distance Reiki different from in-person Reiki?

A: The only difference between distance Reiki and a standard in-person session is that you are not in the same room as Sarah. As your Reiki practitioner, Sarah still taps into your energy, moves through your body, and shifts energy the same way she would in-person.

Q: Does distance Reiki work?

A: Distance Reiki is highly effective and works just as well as an in-person treatment. Distance Reiki is wonderful because you are able to be in your own, comfortable surroundings and obtain maximum relaxation. The more at ease and relaxed you are, the greater benefits you will receive from your Reiki treatment. Many clients report that they can feel Sarah working in their bodies even though they may be on opposite ends of the world!

Q: Who can benefit from Reiki?

A: All people of all ages can benefit from Reiki.

Reiki is a tremendous healing modality that can be highly effective when added as a supplement to ongoing healthcare / treatment from your primary care physician or as a standalone tool. People of all different ages in varying forms of health can receive significant benefits from Reiki, and Sarah is happy to work with people who are dealing with serious illnesses as well as folks who are feeling slightly off but are otherwise healthy.

Q: What should I do to prepare for my session?

A: The most important thing you can do for your session is to ensure you are in a distraction-free and comfortable space. Many clients like to find a cozy chair to sit in for their session and you can even lie down if that suits you—it’s all about your comfort! If you happen to fall asleep in your session, that’s OK, too.

It’s a good idea to make sure you’ve eaten something at least two to three hours prior to your treatment and are well-hydrated.

Also, we recommend turning your phone to silent and perhaps using a hands-free method to take the call (i.e. Bluetooth headset, headphones with a mic, speaker phone).  Sarah will ask questions here or there based on what she is feeling in your energy centers so it's important to be able to verbally check in with one another.

Q: What’s the difference between an energy reading and Reiki session?

A: A reading is all about the sharing of information while Reiki is about healing and emotional/energetic release.

An energy reading will review your energy centers and what is happening in your life that may be impacting your energy from moving as it should, plus you are able to receive intuitive insight into various areas of your life. At the end of a reading, you will likely walk away with a lot of information and several pages of notes, should you choose to take them! If you are feeling lost, murky, or seek guidance, a reading is a good fit.

A Reiki session will actually move the energy in your body.  Even though you and Sarah may be hundreds of miles apart, you may be able to feel your energy moving via a tingling sensation, warmth, or even a brief light-headed feeling. You may leave your session feeling relaxed and could potentially feel the healing results for up to a week after your treatment. Many people report that they feel lighter following a session; this is because of the energetic release that happens in a treatment. 

Reiki healing is ideal for folks who are dealing with disease, physical conditions, or high levels of stress.  Of course, you can also obtain great benefits from Reiki even if you are just in an energetic slump! 

Q: What are the benefits of Reiki?

A: Here are some common benefits of receiving Reiki on a regular basis:

  • Removes energy blockages, adjusts the energy flow of the endocrine system by bringing the body into balance and harmony

  • Reduces some of the side effects of drugs and helps the body to recover from drug therapy after surgery and chemotherapy

  • Increases vitality and postpones the aging process

  • Helps spiritual growth and emotional clearing

  • Assists the body in cleaning itself from toxins

Q: How often should I receive Reiki?

A: The frequency with which you receive Reiki will vary depending on your goals and what you are looking to heal. For people who are undergoing chemotherapy, recovering from a serious illness, or in constant physical or emotional pain, a weekly session is recommended. If you are dealing with more moderate health issues that don’t necessarily impact your day-to-day activities, a bi-monthly cadence can be effective. Conversely, if you are looking for a little energy boost, feel a cold coming on, or have been having a particularly stressful week, once per month would work well for you. We are able to advise on Reiki frequency on an individual basis, so don't hesitate to ask!
